I Is In The Studio!

Yesterday was an interesting day. I woke up early as usual, I did my school work as usual, and I went home as usual. But the thing that wasn't usual that day was my trip to Creative Studio's with my rapper bud Chris Lago. See, Lago had just won our school talent show with the grand prize being 4 hours of payed studio time and let me tell you, those 4 hours were some of the coolest ones I've spent in a while. Upon entering the studio were given a tour and then got straight to work. I think we were both a little flabbergasted at the professionalness of it all, it was a BIG difference from the closet we used to track in. Anyways, by the end of the night we managed to come up with one original tune. Not exactly the most productive of days, but we at least managed to put something out that was hot and professionally mixed. Hopefully I'll be able to show you guys once it's done. That sums up our studio experience. Hopefully all of y'all music hopefuls will have one too!

Keep chasing them dreams, and that paper!

Much love,

Let Me Take You

Far away... Don't matter if it's California or way off in Bombay. It's crazy how when you stop trying you end up doing things more amazing than when you were trying. I've supposedly written my best song a few days ago. It's called "Let Me Take You" and it's basically an ask out plea. Total time spent making? 1 hour. If only school was this easy. If you wanna' check this song out head to my youtube channel!

The weekend was good. Was at two killer parties on Saturday. Started off at the house of Anna Caparas: Guitarist of our band 24th Avenue and then headed out to Kits for another birthday. Both were extremely fun, but left me completely drained the next morning. I luckily had enough energy to watch the Oscars.

It was a big day for Kathryn Bigelow and her team that made "The Hurt Locker" who against the odds won in an upset against James Cameron's "Avatar". I personally wasn't too shocked seeing as how amazing The Hurt Locker actually was. But I can imagine the thousands of tweeners (Yes, I know J. Mullz= hypocrite) sympathizing for the Cameron flick. The visuals were groundbreaking, but the acting for the most part was sub-par and the story... a little cliched. It's extremely entertaining and would be an incredible blockbuster hit, but it wasn't this year's "Best Picture". "Most Innovative"? I'd give it that. Well, at least Avatar won in the categories it truly did shine in. Those are my thoughts and opinions though.

That's all the energy I have for today. I hope you're all doing well, and I'll talk to you guys once again when the boredom resides.

QOTD: What was your favorite Oscar moment?

Mine would have to be a tie with The LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers) performance to the nominated soundtracks and Ben Stiller looking like an Avatar!

Much love,

In an attempt to kill my boredom,

I've decided to take up to this blog that all 2 of you still read, haha. Well I suppose it is good to keep recordings of your life. I actually read over a few of these blogs and found myself laughing at how intelligent and cool I make myself sound. In reality, I'm just a loser.

So it's been a few months, how's everyone been? We here at Vancouver have just started receiving our Spring weather conveniently the day after the Olympics... I pondered talking about the Olympics, but instead of me blogging it I thought it would be much more efficient to just post my Lit paper on the subject which is due next week. But if I must talk about it right now I'll say this. It was probably the greatest thing I, as well as all my fellow Canadians could have asked for at a time like this and it's an experience I'll never soon forget.

As I continue my Senior Year slump, I find myself ever so quickly running out of energy. Along with University stress, and me "trying" to jump-start my career I've got a band director and a choral director that have been just sucking me out to my core. That's not to say they're great people, but it just feels like everyone wants a piece of me and I can only do so much you know? Well, it is my fault for signing up for the programs, and at the end of the day I really do love it. I'll keep you all posted if I ever finally have a mental breakdown and end up killing something, haha.

I hope you all have been well while I was away! Check out my Youtube Channel (listed on the side bar) for a bunch of new videos from some of my Cafe gigs and schtuff!

Much Love,
J. Mullz
